MODEL SPOTLIGHT: MANUELA ROSANNA

Meet Manuela Rosanna, a 36-year-old model from Mönchengladbach, Germany. Like many of us (and I do mean US), Manuela didn’t start loving herself fully until a few years ago. Many years of disappointments and trying to live up to societal standards had caused her not to love what she saw when she looked in the mirror. In 2019, Manuela competed in a modeling competition (Fräulein Kurvig in Düsseldorf). Unfortunately, she did not win, but never gave up; she refused to give up on her dreams.

But as fate would have it, she was discovered at a photo shoot by the great Silvana Denker. If Silvana’s name sounds familiar, she was our November 2020 cover model. Silvana is not only a successful international model, but she is also a professional photographer. She is also the activist/founder of Bodypositivity/Bodylove.

After Manuela and Silvana exchanged info, Manuela got the call she never expected. She was hired for a shoot with plus brand Happy Size.

“I wore a dress and underwear to the shoot. It was a struggle for me, but I loved being in front of the camera and immediately trusted the great Silvana Denker.”

Manuela wanted to share her story because she wanted to show other people out there in the world that we shouldn't change for others and encourage people.
