QSM: Can we just go on ahead and give you a round of applause on being the recipient of the 2022 Joe Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. That is a great honor! So let’s talk about how you got to that point shall we?
Dr. Jacquie: I received the Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award in the Hamptons for my work in ministry over the past 25 years. Honestly, I never considered receiving an award for my work with the homeless, women’s empowerment, nursing homes, and families in need a reason for an award because it is the passion of my heart to fulfill Matthew 25 and help “the least of these.”
QSM: What was your very first business venture?
Dr. Jacquie: My first business venture was a Lemonade stand when I was eight years old. My second venture was my own Accounting Firm in 1989 and I operated it until 2007 when I retired and sold the practice.
QSM: Sis…. You are an 8x national and international best-selling author? That is amazing! Congratulations! Where did the inspiration to begin writing come from?
Dr. Jacquie: In 2004 my first book was the instrument of healing for a heart condition. When I write it begins with a message that I want to convey such as empowerment for women. I wrote a 6-book series on empowering women entitled, A Woman of Worth: Loving the Skin I’m In.
QSM: I love your energy. You exude the spirit of Sisterhood. Can you talk more about what that means to you?
Dr. Jacquie: For years I have watched women live beneath their potential partially because of society and its dim view of women. Also because of the self-imposed constraints we face because of skin color, weight, height, and socioeconomic status. My mission is to help women see that we are our only limits and show them the way to living a limitless life. It also means that as women we should never leave another sister behind because we are our sisters’ keeper.
QSM: Can we get into this perfume though? What encouraged that journey and how did you get started? How many scents have you created?
Dr. Jacquie: I started out in 2014 as a soap maker. I created all natural and organic soap because I had Eczema and commercial soap caused severe itching. I taught myself the art of soap making as a hobby. I added lotions and other products and gave them in gift baskets for holidays and birthdays. As an Accountant we don’t understand the concept of waste and my hobby became a business. The next step was perfuming making because again, commercial brands had ingredients that broke me out in a rash. I discovered organic Alcohol, and the rest is history. My sense of smell is very unique, and I started creating perfumes for me. People were fascinated by my creations, and it became another stream of income for my business. I have created perfumes and products for people around the United States from women who want to start a business to celebrities who want to increase their brand awareness.
QSM: Let’s talk about this television network? I mean how on earth are you finding time in your busy schedule to oversee a network? I just can’t figure out which aspects of your life I am more impressed with. Can you share the details of the network? Where can people watch? What shows are aired? When?
Dr. Jacquie: ITF (Igniting the Fire Media Group) was started to give individuals with a desire for media exposure an affordable way to have videos produced, television programs and radio exposure. My husband and I have produced shows for ION Television as well as shows featured on Preach the Word Network, The Now Network, and Kingdom Purpose Television. We are currently in negotiations to launch a Shopping Network in order to give my perfume clients media exposure to the nations.
QSM: As I understand it, you are also a cancer survivor. Can you share more details on that?
Dr. Jacquie: In 2019 I was diagnosed with a severe form of Breast Cancer. The Oncologist told me, the Cancer was so severe that they didn’t know how to treat it.” But I know a God who is able to heal any disease. After months of Chemotherapy, Radiation, and surgery I am blessed to proclaim that I AM FREE OF CANCER and all the roots, fruits, and tentacles of the deadly disease.
QSM: But look at GOD!!!!! You also now do cancer care coaching. What does that look like?
Dr. Jacquie: After meeting other women walking through the valley of the shadow of Cancer, I wanted to help them overcome and walk in victory. I was trained as a Cancer Coach by the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I am also an Ambassador for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Lord has blessed me to open Mallie’s House of Hope for women facing homelessness and Cancer. I met three women during my journey who were homeless and fighting Cancer. This is my way of giving back.
QSM: You hold several degrees and certifications; but out of everything that you do what is your first love?
Dr. Jacquie: My first love is reaching God’s people with a message of hope and healing. Nothing brings me greater joy than going under the bridges and encampments and spreading love and hope with food, clothing, “Because We Care” Hygiene packages and the Word of God. My second love is empowering women with a choice and a voice and show them there are no limits when they take the limits are off.
