The Embassy Suites Hotel in New Jersey was aglow on December 16th, as it played host to the dazzling Ms. Full-Figured U.S.A. NJ pageant. Orchestrated by the talented Siddeequah Holmes-Benders, affectionately known as Princess Dee, this spectacular event, founded by Theresa Randolph and Jackie Epps, reinforced the powerful message that "Beauty Has No Barrier On Size."
In the glamorous ballroom, eleven exceptional contestants, each radiating self-love and confidence, took center stage in categories like Fashionista, Daywear, Swimwear, and Eveningwear. From showcasing their distinct styles to exuding grace in various ensembles, these contestants held the audience captive with their charm and charisma.
Princess Dee, the director of the event, shared her perspective, saying,
"It's an honor to be the director of New Jersey because I meet so many different women. It is simply amazing. To watch them come out of their shell over the course of the several months that we are together. It's no feeling like it. To be the person who helped them come out of their shell is amazing."
Princess Dee also set high expectations for the newly crowned queens, stating,
"What I expect from the Queens is to hold their heads up high, work hard at their platform and support their community to show the world that size has no barrier on beauty and brains."

As anticipation peaked, the audience witnessed the crowning of the queens. LaToya Andrews claimed the title of Ms. Full-Figured U.S.A. NJ 2023, exuding confidence and beauty. Alyce Wilburn secured the coveted Ms. Full-Figured U.S.A. NJ Plus 2023 Crown, embodying grace and style. Tiqua Knight was bestowed with the title of Ms. Full-Figured U.S.A. NJ Exquisite 2023, radiating elegance and charm throughout the evening.
These three queens, representing diverse facets of beauty and confidence, now stand as ambassadors for self-love and body positivity. With their crowns and sashes, LaToya Andrews, Alyce Wilburn, and Tiqua Knight are poised to champion the cause of the Ms. Full-Figured USA brand, affirming that every woman deserves to feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated, irrespective of size.

Hailing from Newark, NJ, Tiqua Knight, a dedicated Special Education teacher and Reading Specialist, claimed the title of Ms. Exquisite Full-Figured USA NJ 2023. A proud mother of two, Tiqua embarks on this pageantry journey at the age of 44, aiming to prove that qualities like confidence and grace transcend age and preparation time. Her platform, SBW (Strong Black Woman), reflects her personal connection to the cause, intending to raise awareness about challenges faced by women and promote empowerment through events, volunteering, and sisterhood.
Tiqua expresses deep gratitude for the opportunity to represent New Jersey for the upcoming year and compete at the National pageant in Atlanta, Georgia in November 2024.
Meet Ms. Full-Figured U.S.A. NJ Plus 2023 - Alyce Wilburn:
Alyce Wilburn, the Founder of Depression Defeaters Inc., stands as a beacon of resilience and support. Overcoming personal struggles with depression and anxiety, Alyce utilizes her platform to connect Depression Survivors with crucial community resources. A graduate in Communications, Alyce has dedicated 18 years to providing support to others.
In addition to her philanthropic efforts, Alyce crafts handmade tutus filled with love through her venture TuTu’s By Alyce. Recognized as the "face" of the plus-size boutique, Curvaceous Fashionista, she plays a prominent role in her community. As a mother of four daughters, Alyce dedicates countless hours to nurturing and developing their unique personalities. Her heart-centered approach and unwavering drive make her a true inspiration.
Meet Ms. Full-Figured U.S.A. NJ 2023 - LaToya Andrews:
Born on January 11, 1988, in Newark, NJ, LaToya Andrews, the middle child of John Andrews and Lina Hixton, has blossomed into a confident and stunning advocate for the plus-size community. Beyond her advocacy, LaToya harbors a fervor for rock climbing and zip-lining, embodying a spirit of fearless determination.
Her journey includes gracing the runway at a distinguished Ashley Stewart Fashion Show, solidifying her belief in possessing the qualities required to wear the crown. A dedicated advocate for empowering women with similar journeys, LaToya aspires to claim the title of Ms. Full-Figured NJ Queen.
