My name is Alfred Beverly II, husband and daddy of two amazing kids! I love what I do and do what I love! I simply love being a photographer!
My love for photography came from my daddy who always had a camera to bring along on family vacations and functions. When I was older, I had an older model camera that used the old style roll of film, and my daddy would always ask if I had any “flim” not “film” in the camera. He always wanted me to take a photo of all our family members and loved ones. From there my interest in photography grew more and more.
Fast forward to 2007, when I started Charis Photography. Many folks ask, what is Charis or who is Charis. Charis is derived from the Greek word meaning “grace, kindness and life.” In other words, God has been gracious enough to bestow a gift in me that I did not go to school for. Every piece of work you see from me, is all self-taught. Before I began as a business, I shot everything for free for a couple of years, until two of my good friends asked how much I charged for my services, and I told nothing. It was then, that they told me that I need to begin my business in photography. Here I am today, 14 years later going strong.
I love shooting high school seniors, fashion models, boudoir, and general portraits. I also capture weddings, events, and branding images for boutique owners. I have been very fortunate to build an amazing catalog of work, captured from some of the best places in the country. Working with high school seniors is my greatest passion. From getting to know them, to allowing them the opportunity to show just who they are, is a real joy. What matters to me most through what I do are the tiny things in life. I ask every single client of I capture this one very question, “Did you have fun?” It’s my job to make sure each and every client has an amazing experience shooting with me! It’s important to me that everyone leaves from their photo session with a smile on their face and joy in their hearts! This lets me know, we did it right and it will show in the final images.
Lastly, the ultimate goal is to have repeat sessions with my clients and hopefully, they will share their experiences and memories with their friends and family that will last a lifetime!
