PLUS SIZE MEN'S ATHLETIC WEAR
Happy New Year!
With the New Year here, I have been consistent with staying fit and eating right. I go on walks to release tension from the “everyday” madness and confusion. I go to bed on time to assure a healthy start. I noticed my gym outfits starting to look prehistoric and ancient. I have always wanted my alethic wear to be more colorful and desirable when working out. Like Timothy and many other plus size men, attaining gym wear is not as easy, the pricing is unattainable, and sometimes online shopping is the only resort.
For years, many would say it is very easy for men to find athletic wear to accommodate their work out needs, but not quite as easy for Big and Tall men. Finding affordable and modernized clothing is an all-year-round task for plus size-men.
Big and Tall men have been out for many years but making fashion and lifestyle mainstream has been an up and down hill battle for the last two decades. They amplify a diverse group who wants to look good, feel good, and fashionable debonair when being presented to the outside.
Below is three companies that chose to make their sizing for plus men more affordable and fashionable:
Champion has made a strong comeback into men’s fashion. They have been an icon staple in the home for many years. They are one of the trendiest labels in casual fashion and active lifestyles for all men sizes small up 6X.
ASOS is one of the most size-inclusive retailers for all genders, but its men’s plus size section has become a true gem. Their plus men active wear has grown in multi-color short sets, active pants wear, and under tees. ASOS has well over a thousand looks for plus size men ranging up to 4XL. ASOS is truly a plus size-men one stop shop for active and leisure wear.
Costco is another men’s fashion! Hear me out! I know one may want to compare that it is old to shop where you get your food, but Costco has made a wide-range of plus-men clothing that is affordable and durable. They heard many consumers and have made their patrons' shopping experience more inclusive to fit not only plus women, but plus men.
Many apparel companies have started selling larger sizes in recent years, but some men who wear plus-size athletic clothing say makers of technical athletic gear and apparel have failed to keep pace. We hope as we continue to evolve, many mainstream fashion companies will jump on board to being more inclusive.
